Get the finished screenshot where it needs to go
Copy annotated images, save PNG or WebP files, and choose the output size.
Choose an image when the picture can stand on its own. Use written steps alongside it when the reader needs a sequence of actions.
Copy an image
Copy sends the annotated image to your clipboard as PNG. Paste it into a message, document, or another app that accepts images. The current crop and export inclusion settings determine what appears in the result.
Save PNG or WebP
Use the export panel to choose a filename and PNG, WebP, or both formats. Save opens a file dialog for each selected format. Desktop WebP uses lossless compression.
Keep Original pixels for the native composition dimensions, including any frame, or set a custom output width. Custom width resizes the complete result. Editor zoom changes your view, not the dimensions or placement of the exported annotations.
Crop and frame the result
Crop removes unrelated parts of the image. Preset aspect ratios help when you need a particular format. Check that the crop includes the labels and context your reader will need.
Choose Frame or press F to add a solid, two-color gradient, or transparent backdrop. Adjust padding, image corner radius, and shadow in its inspector. Frame edits support undo and redo and apply to this image only; new captures start unframed. Crop mode temporarily shows the unframed original.
Framing keeps screenshot pixels at their native size and adds space around the crop. Padding is limited automatically when needed to stay within the supported image size; the inspector reports the effective value. The frame remains when Include drawings is off. Transparent backgrounds preserve image transparency; solid and gradient backgrounds fill it.
All annotations and crop positions use the original image pixels, so changing editor zoom does not move them in the saved file.
Share numbered screenshots
Save the image with its numbered pins, then write the matching instructions in your document, support reply, or issue tracker. Framio exports the annotated image; it does not create a separate text guide.
Check the image and text together before sharing. Make sure each number points to the control described by its step.
Save an image before replacing it or installing an update. The app prompts you when an open image has unsaved edits.
