Small details. Clear explanations.
A desktop workspace for capturing screenshots, adding context, and getting the result into someone else’s hands.
Start with the right detail.
Grab an area of your screen or a whole display. If the image is already on your computer, open it and get straight to the explanation.
- Area and full-display capture, with display selection
- Command/Control + Shift + P and tray capture actions
- Open or drop PNG, JPEG, and WebP images
Make the next step obvious.
Point to a single detail or explain a sequence. Choose marks that help the reader follow your thinking without hiding the original image.
- Numbered pins with adjustable pointers, colors, and styles
- Arrows, lines, rectangles, circles, and ovals
- Highlights and magnifiers for details that need a closer look
A few careful finishing touches.
Trim the edges, adjust the framing, and change your mind along the way. Zoom in to work on a detail while keeping edits in the original image pixels.
- Crop and preset aspect ratios for common formats
- Undo and redo, move selections, and nudge with arrow keys
- Blur for softening a background or reducing visual distraction
Ready for wherever you work.
Put the finished image into a message or keep a copy with your project. Use numbered pins when you need to explain a sequence, then place the image beside your instructions.
- Copy annotated screenshots to the clipboard
- Save PNG and WebP images
- Choose the exported image size and included annotations

Framio is still in development. The desktop editor works with still images; scrolling capture, video recording, and text recognition are not available yet. Capture and annotation work without an account. Published installers appear on the download page as they become available.
Blur is a visual effect, not secure redaction. Remove sensitive information before sharing, or cover it fully and inspect the exported image.
