A little help, right here.
Find your way around the tools, get capture working, or send us a question.
How do I capture part of my screen?
Choose Capture area, or press Command/Control + Shift + P while the desktop app is running. Drag across one display to select an area. Press Escape to cancel. The tray menu also has capture actions.
Why does macOS ask for Screen Recording access?
macOS requires permission before Framio can capture your display. Enable Framio under System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording. Your macOS version may label this Screen & System Audio Recording. Restart Framio if macOS asks you to.
Can I edit an existing screenshot?
Yes. Use Open image or drop a PNG, JPEG, or WebP file into the studio. Add pins, arrows, shapes, highlights, blur, or magnifiers, then save as PNG or WebP.
Does Framio upload my screenshots?
The current desktop app captures and edits images locally. It does not upload screenshots. Checking for updates contacts our API and downloads release files; capture and editing work offline.
How do I update Framio?
Open About and updates in the desktop header and choose Check for updates. Download the new version, save any image edits, then install. On macOS and Linux, restart Framio to finish. Development builds do not enable updates.
Is blur suitable for hiding sensitive information?
Blur softens pixels and should not be treated as secure redaction. Remove sensitive content before sharing, or cover it fully with an opaque shape and check the exported image.
